Liberty Baptist Church at Night

I am fascinated by how lighting shapes architecture at night. The light made the church overwhelm the landscape, but I was drawn to the reflection of the church lights in the water and the interest they created.  I was comforted by the peacefulness of the water in the shadows and not overwhelmed by the brightness of the church. The challenge was capturing the scene on silver gelatin print.  The photo is the result of calculated experimentation to achieve the right exposure and push processing the film during development.
